Sympathique restaurant de montagne. Belle terrasse où se faire bronzer. La nourriture était simple mais excellente et nous a bien rassasié. Bonne sélection de vins. Le point fort du resto est surtout le service chaleureux et sympathique. Nous nous sommes sentis comme si nous étions en visite chez notre mamie ! Nous avons adoré notre visite !

This one of the special place we love in Zermatt. It is a kind of family owned restaurant where you eat Swiss traditional meals. We go there for their cheese crust which is the best we know. The prices are very affordable which not often the case in Zetmatt.The team is always nice and welcoming.In January, go there before 1pm otherwise you won't have any sun on the terraces.
La même fmaile tiens l'Aroleid depuis des années et à côté des restaurants branchés autour c'est une bouffée d'air frais. Plats traditionnels très simples: croûte au fromage, oeufs sur le plat avec jambon, le rosti de l'Aroleid est inégalé à Zermatt et la crème de marrons faite maison accompagnée de crème est à se damner. Le tout dans un cadre familial et chaleureux, et un prix tout à fait raisonnable par rapport à ses voisins, beaucoup moins authentiques.
Was worried I would not be able to afford any food on the mountain during 2 day skiing break to Zermatt.Fortunately I found the Aroleid - lovely rosti and sausage for about CHF16 - bargain for Zermatt, and not bad for any skiing resort.Lovely sunny location by side of gentle piste returning to Zermatt (just before Furi gondola station).
Ce restaurant que nous visitons chaque année depuis près de 20 ans propose une cuisine de montagne simple mais excellente à des prix défiant toute concurrence. L'Aroleid propose tout simplement la meilleure croûte au fromage de la station et les roestis sont si simples mais tellement délicieux. Une ambiance familiale et conviviale achèveront de vous convaincre d'y revenir.
Above the gondola station in Furi which is the first stop on the trip to Klein Matterhorn, is the most wonderful mountain restaurant I have ever attended. The waitress was wonderful. I felt like I was having lunch at home with my mother. The food was glorious - simple, filling and very, very tasty. The views were incredible. Unlike some small mountain restaurants I have attended, this restaurant was internet connected and credit card worthy. We went here on our way to a suspended bridge. It is a short walk up the mountain from the station. So if in Furi Zermont, skip the restaurant in the station and take a short walk up the mountain to Restaurant Aroleid!
It was great breakfasts and dinners we got during our stay in Zermatt. The best choice, for our goup of we made.
