MIR Cafe-Restaurant

Geschmacklich total langweilig, ungewürzt, hat nach nichts geschmeckt, Gemüse total verkocht und das Fleisch war auch nicht spannend, werde ich nicht wieder bestellen...

This place has a wonderfully light menu, but also fine dinner meals. Almost mediterranean, with just a hunch of exotic, the perfect place to relax and enjoy fresh kitchen, Try the homemade juice or lemonade!Extra-nice service and calm modern interior. Beautiful!Awesome for vegetarian or vegan meals.

We stumbled upon Mir & weren't sure they'd have a vegetarian option for me. How wrong I was. The waitress was really friendly & - as I don't speak German - did an excellent job of describing the various dishes to us. I had a veggie dish & my husband meat with bulgar. Everything was just delicious. Really interesting flavours. The price was incredibly reasonable too. Our table was at the back which wasn't great but it was Saturday night & we hadn't reserved. We would have returned the following night but they are closed on Sundays.

I had been looking forward to visiting MIR after reading a favourable review and looking at the website. Design-wise, I was definitely not disappointed. The menu is small and pretty eclectic, but I was rather disappointed by the salad with caramelized haloumi. I had expected more complexity in flavour, but in fact the diced haloumi was essentially covered in a thick sweet layer of hard caramel (think candy apple) that was overly sweet for my taste. On the other hand, the lemoy salad dressing was right up my alley. For dessert, I had gratinated milk rice, which was lovely and reminded me of Turkish style "firin sütlac". What we (a group of 5 people) all really, really disliked was the fact that acoustics were really bad (at least were we were sitting, i.e. right next to the door) and this despite the fact that no music was playing, nor was it particularly noisy. We ended up huddling close together and even so, it was really hard to understand the person sitting right opposite you. In a nutshell - not the ideal setting for a dinner with more than 2 people in my opinion.

My wifes family is aramaeic and we were very curious when we heard about this restaurant offering familiar cuisines. We chose two of the plates combining several dishes / entrees. After that we had the lamb stew. Both were authentic, and very refined. Great dishes at a reasonable price. If you want to eat oriental in Vienna this is the spot I recommend. It's also right next to the Naschmarkt and you can find a great coffee roasting shop / cafe next door.

Der Burger war kalt, Brot war hart, Pommes waren trocken. Habe dass essen Probiert doch fast alles ist leider in den Müll gelandet da es einfach nicht genießbar war. Schade

food was good but soup was spilled when i got it
