Léontine

This place is a real gem. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed, the team is friendly, young and motivated and the food is heavenly (modern-french). Their 5-course set-menu at dinner time is outstanding value and at reasonable prices, they offer a wide range of French wines rarely offered here in Austria. We visited twice during the last couple of weeks. Highly recommended.

I like who the old restaurant has been refurbished, it has a friendly atmosphere although it looks more similar to a modernized Vienna-Beisl than a French bistro. The service was excellent, very friendly and competent. The short list of open wines is a good choice to try out some tasty French wines. The chef's style is international cuisine with a French twist, and it is definitely well above average. We had a very relaxed lunch there.

We had a business lunch there and expected a bit more "French style" though I can confirm that the cuisine was quite "haute". When entering this place you immediately had the feeling to enter a canteen or a simple "Wirtshaus" and that your clothes would stink brutally after leaving this place again (which was the case). More than that it was quite cold and you didn´t wanna get off the jacket ... The food was really nice and delicious, but as the chairs were uncomfortable and you hardly had space between the table and the wall in your back you could not move a lot. Since then I noticed that I kick back my head when laughing loud .... this REALLY hurt! So if you feel like being in a sardine can, it is just not possible to enjoy the food. The staff was nice, but they could hardly move around the table either and everyone had to move whenever they served food. And we also noticed that the order how they are serving is not the traditional way, like age, gender a.s.o it was rather like cherry picking. One plate recived this person then another one on the other side ... just no clear etiquette at all. I am glad that the food was delicious but it would not be enough for making me going to this place again ... far too uncomfortable.

This is a new French bistro-type eatery in Vienna, indeed the only one of its kind. Excellent food (from marinated fish to foie gras or sweetbread) that comes for lunch at € 19 (!!) for three courses. Not exceptional for restaurants all over France but certainly a unique offer in Vienna. One can only hope they will survive in a city that has always tended to favour Italian over French cuisine. I have waited for a restaurant like Léontine (French Bistrostyle, high quality ingredients, product is the star, great wines by glass/bottle, affordable/decent prices, cute owners) in Vienna for many years. Hope Léontine will stay in Vienna for many more years... :)

A bit of the beaten path, but close to city center. A lovely frensh reataurant, with great menu. Had a starter and main: top perfect! Nice wine selection. Staff very friendly.

Our waitress was very attentive. Very friendly service, excellent food and an interesting wine list. Located in a quiet neighborhood off the beaten path, but a quick walk from the ring.
