Despite several unfriendliness and lack of service quality, I was in the spiga tonight to order the student menu for a ride. the service was extremely unfriendly and did not want to accept my student ID as it expired three days ago. in principle, absolutely understandable, would not be the fact that the new semester will only begin in september and the new card will only be sent in a few days. as I said, I can understand this in principle, but not the way this was communicated to me. with a shameful laughing in the face and undamaged ton was told to me that everyone could come, students would come with this excuse still end september. with a little cunning or even only friendliness you could have got yourself a masterpiece, never again spiga.

we have eaten spaghetti a la carbonara and it was very delicious! recommended. self service until 18 o'clock afterwards is served. same price. pizza al calzone also very tasty. children playground on 1st floor

We found this establishment in the old shawl because the prices were consistent with our budget. However, we only took one pizza each. That pizza was also very good. welcome to the staff.

I like the looseness and ease of the waiter. you notice they have fun at work and the good food fits. a great location only unfortunately a too small terrace :) so really highly recommended.

Very unfriendly and unprofessional staff.I would like to remind the management that despite the quality of the food (not too bad but average) the difference it is done by the service and the personnel's attitude. Hopefully attitude will change, nevertheless I will not pay a visit to Spiga for a long long time.

I used to always go to spiga. Really liked the kids corner. Food was nothing special but the service was good. Since it was child-friendly we used to enjoy going there. Last time we went they already told us that the stroller cannot be taken to the 2nd floor. They didn't tell it in a nice way. Sorry, kids corner but you cannot take the stroller upstairs? Isn't it ironic?Anyways today we went again. We left the stroller downstairs as we knew from last time and both kids were awake. We had a 2x1 ticket that was valid until june30th and hadn't realized it was july1st today. The man at the counter without even greeting us, just told us those are not valid anymore, in a rude way. We ordered a pasta for our son. Asked for an extra plate and a small spoon but no , this is only for coffee. No possibility to get it...Then we took the parmisan which is on the upper floor. On top of the parmisan it says in german not to take it. We took it, hadn't read what it said honestly (what if someone does not speak german?) The way the same guy at the counter (who was now upstairs) told us not to take the parmisan and put it on a table, was really rude and unpolite. Spiga just lost 5 customers...our family and a friend of us who also used to go often and realized even the quality of the pizza is worse. Sadly another of many places in Basel who start good and then when they have achieved a good rate of customers just don't care anymore. Bye bye Spiga

we had a coupon (the cheaper lead free) and so we went out to try this restaurant.The merlot was cheap and not like a merlot would taste. the salate was good and the main course was actually. the waiting period, at a restaurant that is half full (saturday evening at 19:30) should be less than 25 minutes between the front and the main course.The price is a raccoon. for spagetti ai gamberoni I just don't pay 36 francs.Sorry, not with us.
