Restaurant Himalaya

I had a dinner there with a friend of mine in April 2017.The place was recommended by a known person and, given the reviews, I had high expectations. I like momos in general but these ones were too salty, Wesley's kitchen in the same neighborhood makes them much better. We then shared a chicken dish and a beef, both were very normal, the chicken didn't taste like chicken, the beef had almost no savor. The service was slow despite having only few guests. I might have eaten there in the wrong day but I'll keep the doubt, I won't go again. Prices are not bad for being in Zurich but I rather spend few more CHF and have a good dinner.

Went here with a friend to have spontaneous dinner. The staff was friendly and uncomplicated. The waiting time was longish (which is not necessarily bad). The drinks and food are very well priced (3.50chf for a glass of wine). I had vegetarian tibetan dumplings which were good and filling. I would recommend to not serve the dumplings with yet more cooked veggies because it does not add anything to the dish. I would go for uncooked veggies or salad - kind of cold style veggies. My friend had a dumpling soup which was good as well. The food is served with soy sauce, sweet chilie sauce and spicy chilie sauce. I also tried tibetan tea with milk and salt which is good, the salt just gives a slightly salty taste so it is well drinkable.

This is one of those places where when you come home you feel you NEED to write a positive review. It was such pleasant dinner!! The place is cozy and welcoming, the staff was able to guide us through the menu and suggest us the most typical dishes taking into consideration on our taste.We ordered a few things as starters and then a main dish each (tibetan fried chicken slightly spicy and rice with vegetables and prawns), plus some tibetan bread and hymalayan tea, spending 60 chf in two. The price is really cheap for the quality! The shabala starter is awesome, a fried dumpling filled with beef and a bit of onion... delicious!

The two of us were there during the week for diner and we decided to eat the vegetarian and meat momo's, so we could share. They were all good.The restaurant has some tables outside and the interior is nicely decorated with tibetan artifacts and posters.The staff was very friendly and nice.

Friendly host and top notch food! Also the price is very affordable and the quality exceptional. Try the Mango Lassi, it's fantastic!

Authentic Tibetan cooking with numerous options for vegetarians. Vegetarian momo's and Thukpa (vegetable noodle soup) strongly recommended. The food is excellent value and the people are really friendly and make the visit extra special. Definitely a place to go to and look forward to being back in Zurich to go there again.

Great home cooking, in a cosy place, run by the nicest people in town. A lunch favorite in the neighborhood. Momo special on Tuesdays.
