It was a cosy place and we went as a group of approximately 25 people for dinner after work hours. Maybe it was because 25 people orderer food at the same time or maybe it was because a large group of people sit together and ate and talked at the same time, unfortunately, the restaurant did not meet our expectations. If you visit as a small group the result maybe different. However, i did not enjoy the meal very much, i ordered tafelspitz and bier. Tafelspitz was served a little bit cooler than i usually enjoy, i think this was due to the 25 people group, i am okey with that but then again the taste was also not very fascinating, to be honest. And the waitress was not smiling during the whole night, this also might be due to the stress of serving to 25 people together with other guests in the restaurant. I don't know but i wasn't impressed by the overall quality of food and the service. Besides, inside the restaurant was extremely hot and lack of air. We quickly finished our food and went out to the street to have fresh air.

We visited here on a whim as their website advertised a varied menu with veggie options for my hubby.It is easy to find near Stephensplatz. The decor is rustic which makes the bar and restaurant feel warm and cosy. The staff were friendly and helpful, seating us right away on our arrival. They suggested we try their own brewed beer which we did and it was amazing, can't remember what it was called though.The food was delicious. The waiter offered suggestions about the menu to help my hubby with his veggie choices. He ended up having a veggie pasta in creamy sauce and i had very tender beef with a potato dumpling and red cabbage. The food was amazing.There is the option of a smoking or non smoking section, as with the majority of restaurants in vienna, but in the non-smoking section you could barely tell they had a smoking part.

I've been to this bar several times over the last few years when in Vienna on business. Visited again this week (March 2017). No, it isn't haute-cuisine but I've yet to eat better value food in Vienna. The servinge are enormous and typical of well-cooked but unpretentious Austrian home-cooking. Prices are fabulous. Furthermore, the staff are very friendly indeed. Oh, and the beer is great and the waiters happy to voice their recommendations. Last but not least, it's perhaps a touch difficult to find, located as it is at the back of a passage behind an unassuming door - the result is that it can be quiet and easy to get a table despite a very central position. I love the place and will be back many times in the future I hope.

Strange place, a mix of ancient and.... I cannot say. Anyway beer was very good, the dish I ordered arrived very quickly and it was nice. People are kind and Wi-Fi free. Toilets clean and tidy...

My husband and I have just came back from Vienna and had to write a review of this lovely bar. We found it three years ago and we always go back. It's nothing fancy but the service is great, despite the year in between visits they always remember us. The food is also amazing! My husband has the Wiener schnitzel and I had the ribs which were to die for. Very reasonable, lovely food!

Thhis is off the main street so look for the sign tradional decor but huge range of drinks ask Filip Sachsa our genial host to recommend he is very knowlegable together with his wife Susanne they do everything to make you welcome We ate here Xmas day Goose and ribs and an excellent wine suggested by Filip. It felt like our local and the hosts are charming

Had a wonderful time here with my misses, great staff, the food was awesome, mainly the schnitzel, large portion for one but to be honest seemed for 2 in my opinion. The wine was spectacular. Will come here definitely next time.
