It's a great eating place in Vienna and we found Derwiener Deewan to be a unique restaurant in many ways. Good things:- You pay what you like. I, along with my wife moved out after having our lunch as we were getting late, gave money to our son and told him to pay 9 Euros each, ie, 27 Euros for three of us. My son misunderstood and payed only 9 Euros in all. They didn't object, despite knowing that we were three persons. Later when I asked my son, we realised that we blundered so we went back later and payed remaining 18 Euros. The guy thanked us and said nothing. This is something I have never seen before...- They provide Pakistani food of basic level with not extravagant dishes however the quantity is huge and one can eat as much as he wants. Standard of cooking is good. To be fair, one shouldn't be expecting them to provide expensive Pakistani dishes in "Pay What You Like" kind of place. - For a Pakistani, we found the food a little "tasteless" so to say. When we asked them they said that people in Vienna like less spices. So nothing wrong with that too, we sprinkled a few spices on our food (which they provided) and we were good to go. What we didn't like was:- the cleanliness standard at the basement. We were taken there but we found that floor wasn't clean enough and tables were also not very tidy. We decided to move up again. - Overall space is a bit cramped and there are lot of people all the time in this restaurant so one has to wait to find a table. - They also need to pay attention toawards the decor which is quite basic but with so many customers already visiting them, I wonder they would be motivated to do that. Overall, it was a good experience eating in this restaurant and we will go there again whenever we are in Vienna.
