mexican cantina SALUD Villach

Been here twice already and I had to try the ribs as a colleague couldn't stop raving about it. Verdict: It was only ok, not as juicy as I had hoped and the meat seemed to stick to the ribs. The ambience of course was good, especially coming in from the cold outside. Nice place for a quick dinner with friends. Even though we did not make reservations, we were offered a table provided we could finish up within 1.5 hours. 3 ribs sets and 3 house beers cost us 52 Euros so it wasn't very expensive.

The food was perfect, especially the texas ribs. The ambient is nice and the waiters were really friendly.

Maybe the only Mexican restaurant in Villach. Well food was okay but presentation of food was mediocre

Anybody who loves the real Mexican food should stay far away from this place. The menu is composed of mostly North-American meat-based dishes (ribs, steaks, burgers and such) and a few "Mexican" dishes. I tried the Enchiladas with jalapenos and for about 10€ I got a tiny mini dish with two enchiladas made of fast food tortillas and covered with low quality cheese, tomato and chili sauce missing.unless you wanted to pour the chili sauce nearby on top of the thing. The jalapenos were actually consisting of two thin slices of one jalapeno sadly arranged on top of the dish. As dressing instead of finding some avocado or some Mexican beans there was some salad with raw tomatoes filled with vinegar and cocktail sauce...so basically an Austrian dressing. The drinks were not existant..so forget about agua fresca, horchata and so on...The most classical burritos with cheese and beans were also missing...but you could order quesadillas...enough said. On top of that..the waiter was quite rude and pushed us to leave the table within one hour after our arrival as someone else had booked after us. When we left nobody cared, nobody said thank you or anything. A disaster of a restaurant.

Popular local restaurant, you will need a reservation for Friday or Saturday dining. When you are tired of Austrian and Italian fare this place delivers a welcome alternative. I really enjoyed the Camarones al Ajillo and the Calamare dishes are also excellent. The Margaritas are good, the salt rim is a little off in my opinion....but hey...where else are you going to find a good Margarita in Villach?
