Essen bestellen

We visited the outlet of Turkis that is situated in the Donauzentrum shopping centre. There were cheaper and tasty looking options either side of this Turkish restaurant, but this was the choice of my travelling companion. Avoided the kebabs and went for a lamb dish that was tasty enough and a reasonable sized portion. Soft drinks are pricey but not out of kilter with other restaurants we visited in Vienna. Staff spoke some English and service was fine.

The service was incredibly rude. We asked for a glass of water and they told us that they just served water in a bottle. Just a minutes after that, we saw a waiter putting water from the tap to a glass and serving it at a table in the terrace. Therefore, we told the waiter that we have seen tap water and that we didn't want the bottle. He told us that they only served tap water outside and the only option for us (we were inside) was the bottle (5€). When we didn't accept it, he called the person in charge. He told us that the water we have seen was soda, not tap water. (Different from the previous excuse) When we replied that we had seen the waiter opening the tap, he told us: "you can see what you want I don't care, if you don't like our rules you can leave". Then, my wife said: "I will never come here ever again". And the waiter said: it's up to you, we don't care. Incredibly rude. They denied us a simple glass of water. I guess it was because we were just tourists.

A variety of Turkish cuisine with good prices for a commercial street. They have two locations very close to one another.

Turkis restaurant in Donauzentrum is a medium size restaurant. I have visited this restaurant for lunch a couple of times. It appears to be a neat place. My experience with this restaurant, however, is very encouraging - I am neither satisfied with the service nor the quality of the food. Today I ordered day’s vegetarian menu with Lentil Soup and Vegetable Patties (€7.50). Both items were boasted as house-made. However, they were too salty for international standards. The dishes also lacked any desire for good presentation. The service is fast but the waiters behaviour is bit snobbish. In one of visit, the dish was with pitta bread but was not served and I had to ask for it.Though it is a serviced restaurant and prices are accordingly comparable but the attitude is that of a typical take-away joint. My comments are from the experience of last 3 visits.

We along with some friends decided to visit this place as there are not many open places on evening of 1st January. The place is expensive for Vienna and food quality is lower to lot of small Turkish outlets you find in small streets. They went wrong with Falafel over stocked base and over fried. The location and ambience are good but what served is below mediocre. Even the other dishes ordered by friends turned to be tasteless. The service was so bad that when we informed about the food they tried to ignore than accepting. I would definitely not recommend this place
