this location must improve how it uses the opentable book system and how it is handled with overbooking/double bookings. we had seen good reviews for this restaurant and on December 13 at 20:30 a.m. we had booked a table for two dinners, several hours before our arrival in köln. our reservation was confirmed and when we arrived in the restaurant, we were relieved that we had reserved because it was very busy. I tried my best to interact with the locals, I used my limited German to introduce us and say that we had a reservation. I immediately noticed that there was a problem, as the staff double checked their booking list (written on a flocculent single sheet) and told us we were waiting. Finally, a waitress came to us with an ipad and told us that the restaurant was overbooked for the evening and that there was no space for us. we said we would be happy to wait for a table, but she refused and it became clear that the restaurant was not interested in serving us. the waitress tried to owe opentables book system, although it was clear that they had made a mistake in the number of reservations they had accepted. we had to find another place to eat at 20:30 on a Friday night. the whole experience was very bad and could be easily solved as we were happy to wait for a table to be free. so many restaurants in Germany and Europe need reservations, so what is the point of making a reservation if they simply turn away when the restaurant makes a mistake? it is very unprofessional. this restaurant has to be more attentive to the number of reservations that they receive and improve the way and wise how the staff is dealing with mistakes. the personal should also have the courtesy of contacting customers (using the OpenTable app) when they are overbooked so that people do not travel, expects a reserved table and is rejected at the arrival. terrible and would not recommend.
