We dined here before and left disappointed; the atmosphere was the pits, the food a downer, staff grunchy, and prices were stiff. The view, however, was definitely spectacular. Now, with the recently changed management, we thought things had gotten better and decided to give the place another go. Bad decision! The restaurant was practically empty and the welcome far from overwhelming. In fact, it was anything but; we were allocated the only table that wasn’t covered with napery – without the possibility to change to a nicely laid-out one… unoccupied! As for the rest, nothing has changed; dull ambiance, mediocre cooking, listless personnel, and still expensive when considering what you get for good money. Perhaps time for new owners to change stuff around and make the place worthy of its dazzling view.

We try to eat at least once a week at L'Esplanade as we love the food and the view. The staff are so courteous and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. There is an excellent choice of wines and champagnes. I celebrated my 60th birthday there in September and had a wonderful time. I love how light and airy the restaurant is. The filets de perche are excellent. All the food is freshly cooked and delicious. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant for any family or business event.
Visited for lunch on a sunday. The restaurant is light and airy with a huge panoramic window. Staff were polite and friendly and happy to talk through details on the menu. The food was good quality, very tasty and a good variety on the menu.
I expected average food and uninventive menu. The quality of the food was nice, but it was quite "old fashion" style. The decor is outdated.
This restaurant offers an incredible view of the Lake and the vineyards that surrounds the beautiful medieval town of Aubonne. We visited the place on a Saturday. The food was pretty good, except perhaps for the fish which a bit dry. The deserts alone were definitely worth the drive.All in all, this place has a lot of potential to become a nice little gem, but unfortunately like many restaurants in Switzerland, the atmosphere feels a bit cold. If I were the owner, I would open the terrace during the summer, invite a live band, and serve some drinks. This place would suddenly be crowded!
We have eaten here on numerous occasions as our daughter resides in Aubonne. The views are spectacular overlooking Lake Geneva and the Alps. Try and reserve a window seat.Food is good especially the small Perch from the lake. However the wine list lets this place down. Mainly Swiss wines, but not good ones.Reasonable service.we keep returning despite the wine as the views and food make it worthwhile.
Food is mediocre, but price wise is a rip off, menu at chf62, took just meat from the menu, they charged for it chf55, means the starter and desert would cost only chf7. When owner was confronted he said he served bigger size of meat and not a joke size, meaning if you take menu the meat is joke size. Very ballsy of him to admit it.
Good service, great view, horrible and expensive food. Went with a friend and what a disappointment. I should trusted other reviews before going. CHF 70 per person wasted. Not recommended.
