Kwong Ming

One is not spoiled by the number of Asian restaurants in Martigny, but the Kwong Ming is one of the best I have visited recently in Switzerland. The service is good and rapid and the menu quite varied, although some of my preferred reference dishes were not available. On the other hand there were a few that I have not seen before (e.g. Chicken with deep-fried basil) - it was good, but the basil leaves had lost their taste. The usually more expensive King prawn and duck dishes are at the same price as the chicken or beef offerings, and on the whole, the prices were at the usual more expensive Swiss level. There is a big parking lot just over the road.

Service was terrific, devour was detailed, classy and the restaurant spacious. Excellent selection of items and the food was delicious. Rare to find such good Chinese cuisine in Switzerland. Swiss prices, but to be expected. Will be back when we are in Martigny next.

We visited the Kowng Ming restaurant located on a 1st floor of a building. The decor is very nice and subtle elegant. The reception was warm and friendly and the truly outstanding feature of this rather pricy restaurant was the service. Unobtrusive yet always somehow present and all done in grace and style. The food, well it was nothing special I am afraid to say. The Duck was juicy but very salty as was the chicken with basil leaves what a pity. Maybe the Chef was in love? The Fried rice was delicious. Would we be back no I don't think so.

Top chinese restaurant. Provides great quality in all dishes, served with glamour. The staff is nice and professional. The facilities are beautiful and well cared. A place to return, absolutelly.

good food and great choice. Expendive but chinese food is never cheap in switzerland. Would recommend it and will go again.

We went to have dinner and it was such a disaster! We had for starter spring rolls and raviolis which were both tasteless. Then my main course had an horrible after taste of burn which I could still taste way after the meal! The rice which is not included in the price was blend and overcooked! This is only the food. The plates I was given to eat my starter with was dirty but the waiter who saw me cleaning it did not bother to change it.The wine came with the explanation (after asking more info tasted funny) that it was bulk wine and that they couldn't guaranty there was no foreign wine added to it. The wine is listed as local wine on the wine list! Another point is that some waiters were not smelling so fresh...we probably came on a bad night...but will not go back again.

We know and visit this restaurant regularly for more than 15 years. It is not cheap, but to my opinion this is one of the best Chineese restaurants I personally have eaten in, thus far. A very nice atmosphere, very efficient and personal service. Large selection of dishes and wines. Recently we started to eat lunches, in addition to the evening dinners, and find the same great quality. During the recent business lunch we ordered a menu for 45 CHF per person that included scampi dish for a start, a portion of duck slices in a picantic souce with a portion of rice as a main dish, and for desert a quarter of fresh ananas with ice cream, a delicious lunch. Highly recommended restaurant in Martigny.
