Cafe des Sources - Eric Vouriot

It happened that this restaurant was just next to the hotel i was staying at and i tried it because it was heavily raining and didn't want to go further in town. Surprisingly the menu was rich with daily suggestions from the chef. Apparently you need a prior reservation but as we were only 2 persons and it was still early (7 pm) they allowed us to have a table. Dinner was great yet both salads we ordered were not up to our expectations. Service was good and friendly.

This 'cafe' was next door to my hotel and, following TripAdisor ratings, I went to it, quite late after my flight. The welcome was warm and the menu terrific. I had foie gras, following by morels (mushrooms) cooked with basil and cream, then a splendid rhubarb and strawberry compote with meringues. The service was excellent. Good wine by the glass and all reasonably priced, especially for Geneva! I was taken to the same restaurant the next night by my Genevan host and again had superb food- quail terrine following by an oriental prawn and squid dish. All delicately flavoured and perfectly cooked.

Food was excellent. I had riz de veau which was cooked in a tasty sauce with morel mushrooms. Service was the best I have ever seen in Geneva. The place is relatively quiet and decor is pleasant. You can't go wrong here.

In the Geneva there s a lot of bad restaurant very expensive. In la café des sources you eat nice food at affordable price. The mood is ok and the service too. I recommand.

The starters were very good -- scallops brochette and terrine de pate. The main course -- a lobster cassoulet -- was disappointing. The lobster was either previously frozen, or terribly overcooked, as it was tasteless and pasty. The desserts were the typical fare -- flan, crème brulee, etc. There are only two servers for the whole restaurant, and so it was slow and not always attentive. Good value for a CHF 200 bill (without wine)? You decide.

We had the basic lunch menu and were surprised with the high quality of the dishes. Fresh, tasty, nicely presented and the servings were rather generous.But this culinary happiness was cut down by; noisy atmosphere, service on the slow side (probably because they look understaffed), and a bill a little high.Overall the good in all this is that its possible to have a tasty meal in a non-uptight spot.

I have eaten now 4 of 10 proclaimed burger places in town. They are all terrible!This little hidden gem is a must try in Geneva. The burger isn't even on the menu. It's a specialty that is given homage on the wall. A huge description of where all the ingredient come from. This is the first burger I have had in Geneva that wasn't "gamey" Can't wait to go back
