Giardino Romano

Dinner with a friend. Very well received and the restaurant is adapted for persons with mobility problems. The veggies pizzas were delicious and salads fresh. The pastry a little wet but all round the food was great. A little proxy for the area though it's not the high streets! On the downside the service was too much in our face though.

Service was pretty prompt and very friendly. A couple of us had intended ordering pizza but were put off when a complimentary small pizza was offered while we perused the menu - it was limp and tasteless. Main dishes were mixed - boeuf tartare was very nice, but a couple of the speciality truffle dishes were a let down - not terrible but expensive for average quality.Overall that sums up Giardino Romano - not bad, but too expensive for this quality of food.

I have coeliac disease and was grateful to be able to order gluten free pizza. Very nice atmosphere and excellent service. You pay Geneva prices but that's to be expected.

We've been customers of Il Giardino Romano for a while now. The food is always excellent, very well prepared (as in a gastronomic restaurant), and the pizzas are delicious. Service is polite and over the top. The owner, Stefano Fanari, is very nice and has always some good specialties from Sardinia, his region of origin, to suggest you. Classy, clean, and quiet venue. There's even an underground parking free for clients. Cherry on the top, prices are reasonable.

I found it amazing that it took some time to get waited on. Finally when waited on, the waiter was kind. I wasn't that impressed with the food however. It's not a place I would frequent as a man who enjoys different dining experiences.

My wife and I went here after finding it on a Google search for Gluten Free Restaurants whilst in Geneva. I have celiac diease so have to be Gluten Free. I had the best Gluten Free Pizza I have ever had and that includes my 4 years living in the USA and my home Country of England.The staff were great and my wife's meal was just as good. Would recommend without any hesitation. The Gluten Free is the open pizza.

We decided to try another Italian restaurant in the area of St. Jean but unfortunately we won't come back. Here is why:ServiceThe waiter was not friendly and it took, believe it or not, 15min until we were asked if we would like to drink something. That's a no-go, especially in summer.Food Best average. I ordered a calzone which was too liquid inside. Almost like water. Also, mushrooms were not fully cooked and half raw. It also was not tasty.Again serviceWe asked for the bill but did not receive a limoncello like other guests. That's first of all standard for Italian restaurants and second we felt discriminated.After asking the waitress if it isn't standard to receive this digestive at their restaurant she reluctantly served us. Unbelievable!In conclusion, average food and bad service equals 2 stars and we won't come back. The competition is too strong in Geneva.
